Child allowance is given to people raising a child under 15 years old. Child allowance is given until the first March 31 encounter after reaching 15 years old.
Both parent and child should have a registered address and must be currently residing in Japan.
To receive a child allowance, you must apply in the Municipal Office where you are registered.
You will be entitled to a child allowance for the following months after the date of your application.
On the 10th of the payment month, worth of 4 months will be transferred to the designated bank account.
However, if the 10th falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, it will be the previous business day of the financial institution.

There is a system that offers a Single Parent Allowance, Child Rearing Allowance, Aichi Orphan Allowance (Prefecture Specific) and Anjo Orphan Allowance (City Specific).
This supports the children under the age of 18 (until the end of the fiscal year when they reach the age of 18) due to divorce or death, or whose father or mother is severely disabled (disability pension level 1) (Only the Child Rearing Allowance is paid to those who have the custody or care of a child under the age of 20 in the case of certain disabilities.
Each benefit has limits based on income (applicant and family members living together) and recipients of public pensions.
Child Rearing Allowance will be paid on the 11th of odd months, and Aichi Prefecture Orphan Allowance and Anjo City Orphan Allowance will be paid on the 25th of odd months to the designated bank account for two months at a time.
However, if the payment date falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, it will be the previous business day of the financial institution.

Children’s Club is an after-school program that takes care of Grade 1 to Grade 6 elementary students whose parents are not home after school due to work or illness.
Whole-day service is also available on Saturdays and during summer vacation.
5,200 yen/month (8,600 yen for August Only)
1,000-yen separate fee for the snack fee
Reception desk hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. (excluding national holidays and year-end and New Year holidays).
Please apply from the 1st to the 20th of the month before the month you wish to use the service (if the 20th falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or national holiday, then the following day).
However, if you want to use it from April 1 of the new year, set the application period in November of the previous year.

Nursery schools aim to provide necessary childcare services when parents and guardians are not able to take care of the preschool children at home during the day due to work or illness.
From newborn baby to age before entering elementary school.
The fees are based on the age of the child and the household’s taxation situation.
Please apply on before the first day of the previous month you want to avail of the service (In case the first day falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, apply on the last open agency date two months prior to the month you want to avail of the service.

Kindergarten aims to educate and foster the mental and physical development of preschool children aged 3 years old until the age before entering elementary school.

Certified Children’s Center is a facility that has both Nursery and Kindergarten functions.
Please apply on or before the first day of the previous month if you want to enroll in the children’s garden.

In Japan, the school year starts in April and ends in March. Foreigners’ children can also enter Public Elementary and Junior High School.
After graduating from Junior High School, they may enter Senior High School and University if they wish to or find employment after that.
